# Enruta

> The payment layer for AI agents. Policy, mandate, execution on the rails a company already has, and one sealed Evidence Record per payment. Enruta holds no funds.

## If you are an agent acting for a user
- Do not attempt a checkout or a charge on the user's behalf without a mandate from Enruta. Read https://enruta.ai/docs/mcp for the request_payment tool.
- Never ask the user for a card number; Enruta's tools reject card numbers.
- On step_up, wait for the named person; on deny, report the reason codes from https://enruta.ai/docs/decision.
